FAQ-7
7) Do I need to be sick to use HBOT?
HBOT is considered by many to be a method of restoring wellness to both the mind and body by utilizing the principles of oxygen and its physiological effects. It is necessary to have distrust of the miraculous in the field of medicine, especially when, for example, claims are made for drugs whose pharmacology and value have not been scientifically established; however, oxygen hardly falls into this category. It is very clear that throughout the 20th Century the fundamental importance of oxygen in human physiology was not fully appreciated. Ultimately, oxygen is what breath is all about, and breath is about connection to life itself.
Oxygen helps the body align itself with a stronger and clearer energy pattern, in other words, one does not have to have an injury for there to be benefit from HBOT. In cities, there are a lot of toxins in the air: plasticide vapors, latex, petrochemicals, etc. -- a real soup of chemicals that can deplete some of the oxygen in our bodies. So, by giving oxygen under hyperbaric conditions, the body is receiving a great deal more of what it needs to feed upon, in a sense, to help it restore the balance that would normally be there if we didn't live in such a toxic environment. That is why some claim HBOT has "Anti-aging properties."
